Multi-Axis Welding Torch Positioner™ by David Page Associates Limited
Main features
1. The multi-axis welding torch positioner is designed for ease of use. Some
torch positioners are too complex and are time consuming in a production environment.
2. The column and boom can swing out of the way for work piece loading and return
to indexed weld position. The pivot point is fitted with oil free polymer spherical
thrust bearings.
3. The Vertical column and horizontal boom movement is via simple ¼ swing
clamp and slide system. This allows operator to easily set basic weld position.
4. An X-Y slide is mounted on the torch end of the boom; this is fully adjustable
via lead-screws and allows precise positioning of the welding torch. Lead-screw
control knobs can also allow the operator to follow a weld should there be any
run-out on the work piece.
5. Mounted on the torch end of the X-Y slide is a 360° pivot with scale,
which allows repeatable torch angle to be set and specified by the welding engineer.
6. The torch is held in place by a quick release clamp. This can be very useful
if for example, the torch needs to be removed for hand welding.
7. Column and boom can be specified in different lengths to suit the end users
requirements.
8. The Multi-Axis Welding Torch Positioner features a rectangular flange which
allows the unit to be bolted to most bench tops.
